Volunteer

We believe transformation happens through people, resources, and real-world experiences. There are several meaningful ways you can partner with us and make a direct impact in the lives of teens and adults preparing for independent living.

WAYS TO VOLUNTEER

BECOME A MENTOR

Mentors play an important role in supporting our students as they build confidence, develop practical skills, and work toward independent living.

Opportunities may include one-on-one mentorship, small group support, or participation in program activities, depending on your availability.

DONATE ITEMS

Many lessons include take-home kits and essential resources that support participants as they continue building independence outside the classroom. You can support our students by donating items that are used to create these learning kits and resource packages.

Examples of helpful donations include (but are not limited to):

  • Kitchen and cooking kits (basic kitchen tools and cooking supplies)

  • Hygiene, self-care, and personal grooming kits

  • Professional attire and career essentials for interviews and work

  • School and workplace supplies

  • Home starter items (household essentials, bedding, kitchen basics)

  • Toolkits and basic home maintenance tools

  • Transportation support items such as bus passes or transportation vouchers

DONATE A SERVICE

Another impactful way to support our students is by donating professional services or sponsoring experiences that help them practice real-world independence.

Examples include (but are not limited to):

  • Financial services (financial literacy workshops, tax preparation assistance, credit counseling, or loan guidance)

  • Career and employment services (resume reviews, interview preparation, career coaching)

  • Housing-related services (housing counseling, rental guidance, assistance navigating housing applications)

  • Personal care services (professional grooming or barber services)

  • Trade and practical services (automotive services such as oil changes, vehicle inspections, home maintenance services)

HOST A WORKSHOP

We welcome individuals who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and skills.

Throughout our programs, we host workshops led by professionals, community leaders, and experienced individuals across a variety of topics, including but not limited to career development, etiquette, cooking, financial education, health and wellness, housing and independent living, vehicle maintenance and inspections, and other practical life skills that support long-term stability and success.

If you are interested in volunteering to teach a workshop or lead a session on a topic within your expertise, we encourage you to reach out to us.
